In a riveting encounter between Cricket Verein Zug (CVZ) and Aargau Cricket Club (Aargau CC), CVZ clinched the victory by 17 runs through the DLS method.
CVZ won the toss and elected to bat first. Ranjith Ramakrishnan lead the batting from the front again and toiled 49 runs off 45 balls. But in a dramatic batting collapse CVZ succumbed to a total of 114 runs for 10 wickets in 29.3 overs. ACC spin duo Rajasekhar Krishnamurthy and Vijesh Viswanathan spun the cobweb claiming 4/20 and 3/17 respectively.
Rain interrupted the play for about 35 mins reducing ACC's innings to 31 overs with a target of 100 runs. With CVZ's bowling attack that chase was never going be an easy task. Ankush Hasani in his opening spell played the music with his swing bowling and claimed 4 wickets in 21 runs. Ranjith provided excellent support from the other end claiming 3 wickets in just 11 runs. ACC struggled to find their footing and were reduced to 35 for 5 wickets in just 12 overs. It was just matter of time that Aargau CC was bowled out for 82 runs in 25.4 overs, CVZ's sealing victory in such a low scoring game.
Ankush and Ranjith shared podium for man of the match award for their brilliant effort. CVZ experienced great outing on home ground with a game of cricket and very well supported by CVZ player's family members and kids !
